My new toy!

In July of 2002 my dad offered to sell me his motorcycle and I couldn't afford it. A month later he passed away unexpectedly and I always regretted that I couldn't buy the motorcycle. It was the first of his bikes that he ever let me drive and it was the first foreign bike he ever bought after years of being a die-hard Indian and Harley owner (and bugging me about driving Japanese bikes). Wednesday I bought it from my uncle! He has only put 400 miles on it since 2002 and it's exactly the way it was when my dad sold it. My uncle (his brother) still refers to it as "your dad's motorcycle". I can't tell you what this means to me. I am VERY happy and a little sad at the same time.

Nice 'wing! I have an '84 Interstate, nowhere near as nice as yours, but it's still a joy to ride!

I have a '78 'Wing that I'm replacing the exhaust on to make it ridable again. New fork seals, and I'm good to go.
Bike has 168K on it, love the thing. Full dress Vetter setup.

My old bike is a 1977 GL1000 Goldwing. I still have it but I will probably be selling it soon.

I just sold my 2004 Honda CBR 600RR. I had originally planned on pulling it up into the rear of the bus and hauling it around with me on my bus trips. But I couldn't afford it and had to sell it.

But now I have my dad's '68 Honda CB450 and am currently re-building it. Hopefully I can get it running and looking nice again and have the same plan with it as I did the 600RR.

Plotting the next project now. Looking for a clean diesel pusher with low rust/miles. Identical plans with plumming and biodiesel added :)

My first was a CB 750 fun bike, then bought 85 KW Eliminator 900. I almost eliminated myself with it. after that I just road my dads GW once and a while.

Funny how Dad's always seem to know best about some things. I am currently trying to rebuild the engine on the bike my Dad (the original owner) passed on to me a number of years ago.

No, it's not a GW, but in it's own right, the 1972 Suzuki GT750 "Water Buffalo" water-cooled triple was (is) a ride like no other. I rode it down from PA to NC non-stop but for gas, and when I got here, it felt like I had only been on it for a trip across town. She'll cruise at 65+ ALL day & nite long and not break a sweat!

THANX, DAD!

I got out for a little ride today. The weather has been unseasonably cold here, but today warmed up enough for me to ride with a winter jacket on (low 50's). I just turned the heaters on and turned the stereo up. It was an awesome first ride. And yes, thanks dad!!
