My search is over!

I finally convinced my wife a school bus is a good idea.I just took delivery of a 1993 International/Blue bird,DT360 and AT545. I bought it from a large operator in our area and it is in excellent mechanical shape.350,000 kilometers on the odo.
Being a large company, they just wanted it off their lot so it cost me 1500 dollars!
They have a few more if anyone can get to Peterborough Ontario.

Re: My search is over!

Sounds like you got a good deal! How many miles does it have? Anyways, you've already cleared the biggest hurdle..... convincing the wife! It's all downhill from here.

Re: My search is over!

that's pretty close to 200K in miles. I would ask how much you paid in "real dollars", but, if I am not mistaken, the loonie has officially passed the US peso, uhhh I mean dollar in value.

So much for running currency smack on you canucks. I guess we'll have to go back to dogsled and igloo jokes.

I'll bet the strippers in Windsor Ontario are hating the worthless dollars they get these days!!!

Good luck with the new bus and just what did you tell the OL to get her to go along? Can you speak to mine? I would be a skoolie owner by now if not for the fact that I would probably end up living in it if I brought one home!!!

Re: My search is over!

The first time I brought up the idea she thought it was the dumbest thing she ever heard. But I just kept bringing it up and eventually started saying things like "when I get my bus I'm going to...." and so on. You have to condition your woman into thinking that buying a school bus and turning it into an RV is something that's normal and all the rage. Tell her that you'll need her help with some sort of project on the bus. Get her involved! It takes a bit of time. Just keep bringing it up and eventually, she'll let you get a bus so you'll shut up! That always seems to work for me.

Re: My search is over!

Please keep those Canadian jokes coming! We enjoy laughing at ourselves.
220,000 miles is about right,I forgot you Americans are the only industrialized nation not to go Metric! (mild American jab)
But seriously, the way to persuade your women folk is to show her the pictures from this very website. It worked for me.
As soon as she saw it wouldn't look like Hee Haw on wheels she caved in.She realizes this is my midlife crisis vehicle and is glad I'm not looking at Ferrari brochures.
We will see how her humour holds up over time!

Re: My search is over!

Hey-we're working on going metric. All of our vehicles are metric now for the most part. Then again, most of our "domestic" vehicles in my neck of the woods come right on down the CN/DWP tracks from plants in Ontario anyway. 5.5mm bolts anyone?

I agree. Buses like Steve's, Jake VonSlatt's, Les's, etc worked wonders for me. As nice as I thought Jason's bus was I couldn't really use that one as an example since it is clearly a roving party.
