No Tomorrow

Hey all. I had to leave the office early today, people were telling jokes like there was no tomorrow!

That's just great. Six hours to go before the world is coming to an end and I'm not going to get laid before that. This sucks!

Nope. We all passed to the next level... or this is all a dream. Millions of people couldn't be wrong. After all if you listen to the politicians, the more vocal you are about any thing, the more likely it is to be "right".

"The people have spoken" so the world ended yesterday.

According to my wall calendars, 2013 will never come because they don't go past 12/31/12.

Of course, nature abhors a vacuum so I'm sure the followers of Nostradumbass will find something else to latch on to. And my roommate will be watching The History Channel's next version of Doomsday until I'm ready to scream.

I find the Doomsday shows fascinating. It's amazing how warped out of shape folks get over things they can't control. Yet they still live their lives based on "tomorrow" ("one day I will retire and follow my dream of...."). And they will not prepare for a natural disaster that will seriously impact their lives.

I also like The Weather Channel's series "It Could Happen Tomorrow". I found the one on NY City being hit by a super hurricane interesting. That was a couple of years ago and NY didn't do anything to prepare. It's not like they haven't been hit by a super hurricane before (they were long over due for one). Oddly enough, TWC was amazingly accurate on the damages that came true when Sandy hit. The people weren't prepared even though they had been warned repeatedly, the States were not prepared even though they had been warned repeatedly, the Federal Government was not prepared even though they had been warned repeatedly.

Re: No Tomorrow

What's the matter guys? Drinking your own pee doesn't appeal to you? How about using perfectly good booze to make a Molotov cocktail? I call that show douche bag preppers. They find only the stupidest people because putting people on there that have their **** together wouldn't make for great TV.

You think it's real? How about that show about the "mountain men"? The one in NC can't farm worth crap (he used what we call a clod breaker to plant his seed in the corn patch) and he lives a whopping 7 miles from Boone NC backed up to a huge golf course on a "learning farm" which is a John C. Campbell Folk School wannabe. We thought that was funny. The "moonshiners" show is a good laugh. The "moonshiners" in SC are part of a touristy B&B music festival/farm. This is called "Reality TV" where it's all scripted and nothing is real. No real moonshiner we know would ever put their faces on TV either.

I don't have a television. I have not watched it in over 12 years. I do know about reality shows. If I had a still to make moonshine or whiskey, I surely would not tell the nation on television.
