I have heard Rainbow Falls Campground somewhere near Chehalis is nice. It is not on the freeway, but not too far from it. I am planning to check it out in the next couple of months.

I would be interested in a PNW meet up. May or July would be best for me.

I would like to attend this if my work schedule will allow

Love the air museum idea, I've been to Boeing field but you need more than a day to see everything. Never been to Mcminnville to see the Spruce Goose but I've been meaning to. Both museums have SR71A's. At Boeing field you can sit in the cockpit of and extra fuselage they have. Absolutely amazing to think has fast they flew that plane, all analog cockpit. Airspeed indicator has a 9 Mach max out!

Anyway, whatever you guys decide on for location I'll try to make it.

You've got to admit Champoeg hooks a lot of people up with seeing the Spruce Goose. I saw it towed into place years ago and have never been to the museum since it was opened. My kids even went there on field trips during school.

Nothing against other areas. It just seems that a lot of people have mentioned going to the Mac air museum.

On the negative side, Champoeg is a hot place in the summertime.

Hey All,

We are new to the site and community. We live in the Columbia River Gorge in Oregon. Depending on the time and location of the meet-up we would be interested in the 2018 rendezvous. We like the idea of having it at Evergreen Aviation & Space Museum | McMinnville Oregon. The museum looks interesting and so does the water park.
Also, in Hood River, our hometown, there is Home - Western Antique Aeroplane & Automobile Museum. The museum is excellent and they may be interested in letting us all rendezvous on their large field as well for the weekend. Hood River is in the heart of the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area. It is also about a 45 minute drive to Mt Hood and lots to do around here. Just some thoughts.

Lurking / Listening....

Not (yet) a skoolie...but interested.

I expect to be visiting Oregon in late summer....visiting family in Corvalis...so "if" a meet happens while I am in-region, I'll definitely be swinging by to visit / check out what folks have done with their skoolies.

I expect to be traveling on 2 wheels this summer...

TIA!

This sounds awesome. Once I get my skoolie good to go I'll post whenever I'm planning a camping trip to see if anyone wants to join. Not sure why a meetup hasn't happened yet!
