Ol' 41

Well i picked up my bus Thursday, registered it after 5 1/2 hours at DMV...and drove it home... did well except for the hills... so lethargic on those hills... but stayed above 45 it ran at 48 MPH on the hills... 70 was a bit of a struggle but had it there a few times temp stayed at about 200 maybe 210 on the hills ...seems to be an interlock device preventing the ignition and key from starting the bus as well as the rear start button ... had to jump the started a few times throughout the trip...contacted Thomas and found out that my bus also has the kneeling ability... dont know if id use it though... Thomas buses sent me several files with wiring diagrams... so now to find what interlock device is holding me up ... the darn turn signal switch has to be replaced... change lanes and the wipers go on.. how annoying that was as well as the lights go on and off instead of going low to high beam... no biggie though .. a great skoolie IMO...

Be sure to see my post on registration in NY

the rough road ahead just got home

so i found some wiring problems that are being addressed and pulled 8 seats out thus far... had the dash all apart, ignition has signal but not the starter... pulled electrical boards 1, 2, and 3 out found a bad wire but not the problem... all put back together but same symptoms... am focusing on the rear window interlock device at this point... replaced some bad wires at the rear switch but still the same... back to that rear window...

Happy Skooling...

Today i peeled the lettering and numbers off, along with the paint they put over all of it... came out really well... haven't addressed the starting issue with the key yet... all in due time i spose....
