Recently (yesterday) procured a different living situation.

Got a friend that's got 14 rental properties...
Her last one had an office building, a mobile home, and a semi-insulated 38' long x 34' wide shop building with 12' wide door where they worked on heavy trucks.... Super clean, outside needs painted.

Only the garage door, roof, and windows are not insulated.


Guess where I'm putting my bus, boat, and storage items!!! For $150 a month with water, sewer, and trash paid

Just gotta pay electric.... Which has averaged $20 a month for last 13 months where I've currently been.

Blacktop and concrete from road to the door, and property was laid out for big trucks! Extra Wide turn concrete driveway.
Concrete pad to park suburban on.

110v electric everywhere and four 220v outlets
Solid steel heavy I-beam constructed and they even cut up a 20' piece of I-beam for work bench!

I can stay here a while and get my bus 100% converted.

I just need to eradicate or eliminate a lone pigeon.

I'll get there.... I can now take my time and work on bus through winter... Get it comfortable, then start looking for land. Baby steps.

I'm not in such a rush, I've slept last two nights on bus... Love it!
Sure wasn't looking forward to living on bus, & construction while on an RV site.

My initial plan after I bought the bus was to take about 6 months through the winter, live in my little cabin and get bus completed.
The land owners needed the property back sooner than my plan. (Was here 13 months and they would not take rent), so I can't complain. It just expedited my schedule.


Most land around here will be bus friendly.

Plenty of room to spare... On the sides!
But, only 2' in front of bus when garage door is closed

Next time I move it, I'll drive it in so I can get into back doors.

Spending a lot of time moving from old place this weekend.

And my lone pigeon is not alone, unless she just spent the night

much better than that BS HOA or city inspector that keeps bugging you.. though you'll have to come up with some living condition s and utilities till the bus is done...

if there was a mobile home there wouldnt there be electric, water, sewer so you could fashion ytourself up a room pretty easy in the shop to live so you can still tear apart the bus as needed?

Cool deal the mobile home water and sewer should be there for hook ups but the electrical might be seperate like the water and sewer for the mobile home so in my mind that would be another electrical payment and water sewer payment besides the garage?
Unless you set up to use it as a dump and fill station and use the garage for storing/living and just pull out to drive/dump as/when needed.
Just my thoughts?

About the birds?
Just start feeding them outside before you close up for the night and while there outside tell them to hit the road and close the door.
Also they don't like the fake owls either. Maybe a couple of fake big birds at the each side will make them think before coming back in?

I'll be pulling out most of what I can and putting it in the shop, so I can work on the bus... I'll keep the washer/dryer out(it's out now), and pull the bisagged refrigerator (28.8 cubic foot) back out... It'll eventually make its way to my son's garage apartment, then I'll pick up the 9.9 cubic foot fridge from Home Depot soon. I need floor space, not fridge space and I don't use ice & water in the door anyway.

The mobile home is still on site and hooked up, but it's about 60 yards from the shop... But, there is a toilet & sink in the shop, just no shower! So, I'll be hooking my Eccotemp L5 up outside in my metal makeshift shower stall like I had at last location.... I'll just have to remember to get dressed before I get out of the shower, since I'm the end house of a neighborhood.
I guess I could wear my swim trunks, then remove them in the shower, and put them back in. Total PITA, but I'll make it work... Since I'm on concrete all the way around. No different than showering outdoors at the state park...right? Grey water is grey water!


Regarding the pigeons... The walk through door is currently MIA, but I've got one in storage I'll be putting in this week... Another one of those things that's moved around with me the last 5 years.
But before I left today, I wrapped a plate in aluminum foil and tied a piece of paracord to it and hung it over the door so it would blow in the crossflow breeze... I spot-lighted in the shop when I got back... Lone pigeon and his booty call are nowhere to be found! I think the aluminum foil worked.

I'll have to post a pic of the I-beam and creosote train trestle timber construction of this shop building!

Yellow beam is 18" and the bottom is 15' from floor... I think it'll handle a couple foot of snow!

Water, sewer, and trash included with the $150 a month rent.
Shop has its own electric meter.

I have a good friend who owns the next ten acre lot about thirty feet down the street!

I'm actually looking forward to clearing it all myself! SO over living in a proper "neighborhood".
