Rules on seatbelts if no seats!

I think if a bus is registered as an RV then it's ok to be on a couch while moving, but i'm not sure. What if registered otherwise? Not sure how mine would be registered as it would be a mobile classroom but could also be used as an RV.

You probably should register it as a bus.

I'm guessing your non-profit will be running the expenses of it in their books, and it's probably easier to run expenses as a bus than an RV. Only a guess though.

Also, the seating is much more permissible for buses (no seat belts, etc..) than RVs.

The only downside would be ahving to pass those inspection (which you already do I believe) but with the "slides" that you want to put in. That could be tough.

Just read ALL your state rules and figure it out afterwards.

If it is being used commercially, you can't register it as a RV in California.
