Skoolie Spam

I just received a spam email with links to another site, pretending to be from this site. Sorry that this is a compromised load of poo.

Bye Bye

I got it too.

I have no idea if it is genuine or not, but it doesn't look it.

And to make it worse, I could not find any "control-panel" for my profile that allows me to "turn off" email contact.

good thing I created an email address just for this site. Now I will shut it down completely. This seemed like a really great community. Too bad the site owners either (1) are full of poo, or (2) lost control of their security and now my personal contact info is out there...

I will not be back

If you're talking about the "skoolie newsletter" it seems to link back to skoolie.net after registering your click (normal email marketing stuff) and is probably a legit new thing from the forum. There is an unsubscribe link in the message itself and it is being delivered by a email marketing company that is generally considered to be above board.

Take what you will from that but it pretty clearly wasn't a hack. Maybe the poo thing is real, that's harder to tell.
