Looks like a nice bus, apparently it runs and drives, but who knows how well, or for how long. Anyone know what kind of engine that is? I'm wondering if this is a gas engine since it has a carburetor...
Just interested in hearing what you all think/know about this bus...it looks like it may be too ambitious for me to buy but I'm still interested in learning!
A carb is a definitive indicator that you're not dealing with diesel, yes.
That thing looks kind of cool. I bet you could lowball, wave cash, and walk away with it. If you were up this way, I'd recommend giving your remaining cash to Keeter Trucking to fix it up, but alas you're not...
Or maybe a Ford... Wanderlodges around then seem to have had many engine options, so maybe the school buses did too. You may have good luck over on the Wanderlodge Owners Group site.
Looking at the air filter it appears to me to be a big block Ford. It's definitely a gasser, spark plug wires give it away. Look at the passenger side of the lift covers.
