springtime

.....
There were going to be twice as many orchids in that flower bed, but the rain this weekend wiped most of the existing ones out. Plenty of buds left waiting to bloom!

now back to your regularly scheduled skoolie build...

P.S. I saw some more wildflowers at the river when I was walking today (must have got in 7+ miles, after not walking for 2 days from nonstop rain! I was lazy and wanted to stay dry) but I left my camera at home. Hope to get them to you tomorrow....

All but the purple/yellow orchids are wildflowers.

Never saw the pink "trillium" looking one before (the short plant with the downward facing flower)

Now if only I could find a sweet nomadic lady to share enjoying them in person with...

Another Cherokee Rose blooming in my neighbor's yard. It grew there wild, first time I've seen it bloom. Too bad a fungus kills them before they fully mature (this tree is 4" max diameter at the base) now-a-days. When I was a kid, they grew huge.

Yea, I have allergies too. It really complicates the asthma from the industrial pollution.

I'm trying to paint, and clouds (the kind that you can't see through) of pine-pollen were blowing out of the trees, covering my fresh paint; flower petals from trees were floating down on my wet paint, and my nose was dripping from allergies onto said wet paint, as I rolled it on.

The nearly continuous rain for 6 months that brings this spring's incredible bloom has kept me trapped without a vehicle to drive, as I pulled out windows and the roof hatch, disconnected my rooftop AC units, all to paint starting last fall.

I could complain about all that, and have many times on this site. But I wanted to look at something positive.

Sorry you're wife has allergies, and sorry she takes "meds" for them. I don't recommend any drugs. Herbs. But that's me. Last time I took a pill was a baby aspirin when I broke my hand, many many moons ago...

You guys have a bus, you should head to Wisconsin for Spring in FLA, then AZ when Spring hits Wisconsin, then back to FLA. Why you live in FLA when your allergies are so bad? But that's me.

I like you're BlueBird shirt, by the way.

That lush verdancy is beautiful, tho maybe less so for those afflicted by allergies.

The Azaleas are about all gone. Walking the section of trail along the top of the cliff overlooking the river where they grow was like walking through a perfume store that smells ...so...seductive.

Now that the honeysuckles are blooming throughout, the woods smell so sweet.

These pink flowers seem like the late-bloomer variety of the yellow/orange ones, and the later red ones.
