Tell me more about Quartzsite AZ.

So, who has been there? What's it like? How long do you stay? Is it hot? Is it just for old fogies? You know, people over 47. How much does it cost? Do you go every year? I wanna know everything.

Re: Tell me more about Quartzsite AZ.

So all those people in the picture are there for a rock and gemstone event? Or are they really there because it's a place to go that is warmer than snow country?

Re: Tell me more about Quartzsite AZ.

Do that many people really go for rocks and gemstones?

Re: Tell me more about Quartzsite AZ.

They also have a rather huge RV show. Here is a couple of websites that lists the shows. I think between the two sites, all the shows are covered. You can boondock on BLM land or stay in a campground (usually booked and often pricey). Escapees has quite a few folks who spend the winters there (not the summers). If you go to the Escapees forum, you can search for Quartzite and find a lot of info on it. "THEY" say every RVer's needs to go at least once. We will go probably once but not at the height of one of the shows. We've had several RVers tell us we need to go set up our food cart there. We did consider it but have since learned that the town is getting greedy when it comes to the vendors and are charging them huge amounts to vend there (more along the lines of a state fair). We are too small to pay those kinds of prices. So we will go as tourists.
