Thank you all

Hey Everyone...

I just want to say thanks to you all...
I know that I am pretty ignorant when it comes to Skoolies...
I have never had one before, so I never had the "need to know".
Until recently, I was a member of another skoolie forum.
When I asked questions, I was made to feel like an idiot.
The forum owner is an arrogant egotistcal guy that verbally abused people when they would ask questions.
I was never able to find any specific information when I looked for something.
When he spoke of archives (which were not even labled as such) he was referring to the threads that he and others had posted.
It was like wading thru a mud puddle trying to to find a penny someone had dropped.
He ranted and raved, and said that his forum was the first and best skoolie forum and that all the other ones had stolen all the info from his site to start thiers.
He even had the nerve to contact me personally and tell me that I could not be part of "his" forum and other forums at the same time.
The final straw was when I was trying to help a new person with some info that I had learned on a forum for Ford pickups...
I was placed on probation because I mentioned that I had gotten the info from another site, but could not post a link to that site.
After he sent me another personal email, I addressed his behavior and felt that he owed me an appology for his verbal abuse.
I thought he was gonna explode. I have now removed myself and all my information from that forum.

I just wanna say thanks to each and every one of you who make this forum what it is... a great place to make friends and share experiences.

Thank you for your help, info and friendship...

The only reason this site even exists is because the majority of us were kicked off "his" forum. So he is the person who you should be thanking!

Re: Thank you all

Hey Steve,

I wasn't aware of that... "He" didn't specify any particular forum.
I think I actually joined 3 or 4 forums about the same time, so I couldn't say which one was first.
I was looking for info anywhere I could find it. I just did a google search and found a couple of sites and joined.
I didn't know I was stepping on anyone's toes... a little asinine in my opinion.
I am thankful for this site... it's kinda funny
That's the second time that I know of that an A$$ was used to point some one in the right direction...
The first time, it was a miracle in the Bible, the second time I'm not so sure...

Take care,
KaptnKAOS

Well that is because this site is one of two sites that was created by old members. Although this one was the first I think the second one is the one he is more angry about.

He was probably mad about all the boards you posted on anyways...

BTW he is a member of this board and likes to spam people about his board using the PM system.

Re: Thank you all

Hey Dan,

Is there a way to block that from happening?

It's really sad when someone is so insecure in themselves that they have to belittle others to feel any self worth.

Thanks again for the info,

Allan

Re: Thank you all

Yea, I got a reply from him on a post I did. That was the last one I have ever posted there. I dont really like the post and wait for a day or two to see it happen. Time delay is ok, but if one has to sensor everything that is said, they have too much time on their hands.

If we were to block him we would only be stooping to his level. He can contact all the people here he cares to. I don't think this site is going anywhere no matter what he says. I have to wonder if my account is still active over that way...

Re: Thank you all

Not if you're posting over here!! He has no tolerance for open communication unless he's the center of it. I bugged out of there as soon as I found this site. His site will never amount to much, he runs EVERYONE off eventually so it'll never really amount to much of anything. I too got a kick out of his "Archives" which was nothing more than posts that were buried so deep it would take days to search through using his broken search engine.

Re: Thank you all

I am one of the few who never went there to begin with. I was toying with the idea of a skoolie for at least a couple years. And while toying with the idea I was looking on ebay and the few that would be listed on there which was often incomplete buses where someone lost interest. But that wasn't enough for me to see and I searched msn for more and then came across Steve's old site. (I can't remember the exact url) I think it was sometime between 2001 and 2002. I did make the site at that time a favorite but I lost the link when I redid the hard drive. Then in 2004 I looked for the site again and seen he started this one. The reason I never joined the other one is simple I like to page through the site before registering on the site. This one I can page through the site before registering to view web pages and the photo gallerys

Re: Thank you all

hey Swinada

No worries... I pulled everything I could from "the other place".
I do have to admit, I learned some things there, and probably could have learned some more had I stayed...
but somethings just aren't worth the price that others are asking...

take care...

Re: Thank you all

I joined there and after reading the introduction page, I felt like I had just been scolded. That turned me off right away. This is the best forum I belong to on ANY topic.

Re: Thank you all

Hey BD...

I agree... I am sorta partial to the 67-72 ford pickup forum I also belong to.
The guys there know their Fords. Since I have both a '68 F-250 Camper Special and the '68 Ford/Bluebird bus I get more Ford specific info there. There are tons of tech sheets with easy to follow photo records as well.
When it comes to the bus and conversion specific info this site is awesome...
I love the projects and feedback from the members here as well...
Between the two forums, I have no need to go anywhere else for the info I need.

take care...
