The Finance Bar: A Skoolie used to teach financial skills.

Meet the woman who turned a school bus into a mobile financial literacy hub

http://finance.yahoo.com/news/school...154620336.html

This was in my newsfeed this morning... a really cool application for a Skoolie! I think this lady could use this forum, though... She spent way too much on design, maintenance, and insurance. She's got to cut costs if she wants to expand her operation!

When folks like that come on here they are QUICKLY run off. A guy who was the CEO of a known non-profit group came on here once to try and find out about buses. He wanted to build a mobile classroom.
All he got from most who responded was insults.

Biggest issue is with people wanting FREE stuff, while most folks on here have busted thier butts to earn the money to build what they have,

so called "free loaders" have always been an issue here as well as most sites/forums that have any kind of DIY approach to a hobby or love

ie: Skoolies, firearms, brewing and art work

Her Bus is done, and she is using her brains to make money, only issue I have is the whole applying for grants... private sector? I have no issues with, it is their money...now government grants? that is my issue; that is MY money

Anyways, I invited her to see the site

The two links I've provided above in this thread do NOT have any "free loaders". They were/are treated as such, however.

FROM GPE WEBSITE GCE-US Programs and Priorities |Â*Global Campaign For Education United States Chapter

A"t the November 2011 Replenishment Conference, the United States made a one year pledge of $20 million dollars toward GPE which was less than two percent of the pledged $1.5 billion in donations by 57 other countries. The next replenishment opportunity is June 2014."

The other one is a Trade school and using available grants

SO

both are Using Our Monies, they both have good hearts

except the first one has almost zero chance of actually using those Billions of dollars due to massive corruption in Africa and I would like to see financials on the board members etc

Like I said I do not care what the private sectors does, it is my money that I am concerned with, there is enough wasted on EBT programs "Billions..." that I can not control, why waste more on buses that I work my butt off on??

I'll quote Margaret Thatcher one more time...

Neither were here to discuss agendas or politics. They were here to talk buses and were shot down.

The article says that she found a "45 foot gas guzzler"... but that looks like a very short bus to me, based on the picture in the article and the video. It's only got 5 windows.

If your here to learn then the only thing important is what you have and what you want to do. Same for sharing what you've done or are doing.

If you are involved in a project of sorts
and want to share that info then
a link to another site should be appropriate.

If that link includes, in passing, that donations are welcomed, then it should be up to the individual whether that specific link is in keeping with this "sites policies" and post or not post.
