This is where dash cams would help!

There's literally tons of dashcam videos on YouTube showing the idiocy of some drivers out there.
This one makes me wonder how this truck driver even got his CDL.... pay close attention starting at about 45 seconds in.

Wait a minute!
Didn't the dash cam truck have right of way?
The truck that caused the wreck was stopped at a stop sign, while dash cam truck was in a non-stop-signed turn lane...

The one with the dash cam was waiting to turn.... the one on the left stopped at the intersection pulled out right in front of the one coming towards the camera.... there's NO WAY he didn't see that truck coming, unless he just flat wasn't paying attention. And 80,000 lbs running 55 mph... the oncoming driver flat out didn't have a chance, not in that short of a distance.
So I say again, I wonder how the one driver ever got a CDL.

I understand all that, but road courtesy also goes a long way too... It seems like the dash cam driver had right of way to be able to not impede traffic. (I know turn lane vs. stop sign)
I'm not sure, it's just the way I see that we drive around here in the sticks

My take on it is, the driver with the camera waiting to turn saw the other truck coming so he waited, whereas the other one didn't, thus he pulled out....
I've been through that same intersection (in a truck, too) from all 3 directions, so there's no reason he should not have seen it.
EDIT: From Google Maps.... this is the view that driver had.... tell me how he could have missed it.

It is my understanding the driver turning left (from the left), pulling into the path of the oncoming truck, he thought the oncoming truck had signaled for a right turn and was going to slow down for said turn.

Yea maybe.... but *I* would not have pulled out until I actually saw he was slowing down.

It's also a good thing that car was stopped in front of the truck with the dash cam.
If he'd been stopped another 20' ahead of where he was, he would've caught that trailer's DOT bumper in his left ear.
