Time to turn around! Anyone on out return path interested in meeting up?

Hey guys! We've been on the road since February. We left from Florida and are currently in Oregon. More about us, our bus, and our trip in my thread: http://www.skoolie.net/forums/f27/sp...bus-17338.html

Tomorrow we're getting back on the road. While we don't have a specific route or time line, we're generally discussing hitting:

Nampa, Idaho
Montana
South Dakota (Mt Rushmore)
Minneapolis, Minnesota
Clarksville/Detroit, Michigan
Bridgeport, West Virginia
Raleigh, North Carolina
Then finally back towards Tampa, FL.

We love meeting other bus folks, anyone in those areas interested in meeting up?

Sure thing. I'm in Lockwood, Montana, 0.5 miles from the Flying Fishhook truck plaza.

If you come through Mud Lake, Idaho, stop in and say hi! Spend the night here at my place if you like. Just got through hosting a big eclipse party and have a decent place to camp. Here is a link to a video from my friends drone of the big event.

Decent? Looks amazing. Thanks for sharing the video. I want to drive through the Northwest- will have to check out Mud Lake now.

Mud Lake is perfectly on the way. Totally a guesstimate but I'm thinking we'll be coming through around the 9th of September?

Christopher we'll find where you're at when we're getting closer and work it out for sure. You probably drove more miles in your bus this summer than we did!

30517 Braselton is somewhat unique in that it spans 4 counties (Barrow, Hall, Gwinnett, Jackson). They also held the world record for "Most scarecrows in one location" (I don't know if the record is still held or not). Braselton relies fairly heavily on tourism and industry for revenue. Chateau Elan Winery and Resort, Mayfield Dairies, numerous antique shops, and Road Atlanta bring thousands of visitors every year.

***FAIR WARNING TO TRAVELERS*** Braselton police patrol I-85 *VERY HEAVILY* and are known to enforce laws very frequently. WATCH YOUR SPEED in this area. Braselton is a small town and law enforcement is a very high portion of the city's revenue. Officers *DO* have jurisdiction in *ALL FOUR COUNTIES THE CITY COVERS*. They also have pursuit jurisdiction statewide. I-85 is considered a "Human Trafficking" corridor. They can and will chase down lawbreakers.

In all fairness however, in all my years here, I have never heard any corruption stories about the Braselton cops. They don't have to resort to that, there's plenty of legitimate infractions for them to catch. In all my dealings with them (Grand Juror this year, not to mention all the business I conduct in the area), they have all seemed to be polite and professional. I have (so far) never been stopped or hassled by them. (I did get stopped by a local Public Safety Commission cop for a random inspection once). Having said all this, many thousands of visitors come every year and the cops know they can't be too strict, otherwise it will harm tourism for the town.

I actually live in 30680, but I'm about halfway between the two.

How's things up there? I'm hearing a lot about fires in Montana. Lockwood would be right on our path if that route is still reasonable!

We're in Idaho today, trying to judge the next few steps based on the heat and fires that seem to be happening all around us.... I don't really want to go to Wyoming again but if MOntana is on fire there's not much getting around it.

Just got back from a family reunion last night, sure got smoky over the weekend in Kilgore and is pretty smoky here now too. The East Idaho State Fair is going on this week in Blackfoot, if you guys are looking for something to do.

Lockwood is right off I-90, near Billings. We've no fires in our area, but we're getting plenty of smoke from the west.
