turned away at campgrounds?

I have read several times and i'm sure you have too, that regular skoolies will be turned away at many campgrounds. I believe this to be an urban legend. Does anyone have an experience where YOU were actually turned away? Not stories of friends, relatives, or somewhone you once knew. Only interested in stories that happend to YOU personally.

I live in Michigan, when it comes to camping, i've only taken my regular nosed skoolie to State campgrounds, but i've found that almost EVERYONE loves my bus. I've never been turned away. I've even parked the bus in "limosine parking" spots in the city. Never had any problems with finding a temporary home for the bus.

I have never been turned away, BUT I have always camped at govt owned parks and never a corp. camp site such as KAO.

I think a scientific experiment is in order. The bus needs some electric heat if i'm gonna be staying at campgrounds this winter.

KOA Experience

When I drove my 91 International Blue Bird back from Baltimore this past fall I stopped in a KOA and was treated royally. The bus was still a "School Bus," with no mods whatsoever. I, too, had heard the talk of discrimination being directed at Skoolies, but I have never experienced it personally.
