Vandalism: How to prevent it!

I currently have to park my bus on the street in front of the house. We have a yard light, but I guess it doesn't work too good.

I went out today to take a couple of bolts out. As I walked out on the street side, I noticed someone had "egged" the bus all down the side and concentrated on the back side window. I imagine it was kids with nothing better to do, but still vandalism and no excuse for it.

I think I am going to find a way to get it in the back driveway if there is enough room to turn in. No way I could afford replacing the windows if someone decided to shoot them out, or slash a tire. I think first I am going to invest in an alarm system, possibly with cameras.

So, what advice do you have for securing a bus from vandalism?

Re: Vandalism: How to prevent it!

Unfortunately, I don't think that the bus will fit in the back drive. Although it is 23' wide there is no room to swing it in from the alley. So that idea won't work.

I guess I will leave it on the street where it is temporarily and if anything else happens to it, I may have to get a gun, game camera, sleep in it at night and then call Dirty Harry for back up.

Actually a game camera might work if it wouldn't go off everytime a car passed. i was also thinking about a motion sen

did you try to back the bus into the drive, a lot of times a vehicle with lots of overhang or a trailer can be backed into an opening that is impossable to pull into.

I haven't tried backing in. There are electric poles on both sides of the alley. I don't know how good I would be at backing, might end up with more damage than leaving it on the street.

That camera would be ideal, I think.

I dont know, I kinda like the idea of having pet skunks. Train them that anyone coming into the yard/bus/house has goodies for them...

I can picture 4 skunks running to the door expecting treats, and one wild eyed badguy backing out the door.
