Re: just want to say"We are 100% of the way there"BASE BUS P

So it was a sad day Friday...the end of a legacy

I built this over the winter years ago, in prep for the first ever race in a national forest east of the Mississippi river

I built it on a very strict budget and in my backyard...so I could represent Planetisuzoo and gives folks something to look at every day,it was fun and she was an absolute blast to raise hell in...we had many good rides and many great races....

here is a few pics

if your bored and wanna read the build thread

Congratulations! I just went back and looked at all the stuff you've taken to the scrap yard. Looks like a secondary congratulations are in order for being able to let go of some of those items! Can't wait to see what kind of bus all that metal turns into!

You could always run down to Alto GA. That bus graveyard down there does have buses that run. It is a long way for you though (over 200 miles). The guy buys them from neighboring counties all the time. Of at least he did.

Alonzo Wade Auto Parts
Alto GA
(706) 778-6400

Was this one in Lenoir NC the one you looked at? (1985 International Bus, diesel. Converted into motor home camper. New tune up, tires, 20 mpg. $3000. 82 or 70)

Re: "We are 100% of the way there"BASE BUS PRICE has been me

no it was in JC; an 89 flat nose BB w/5.9 A545 had some issues... engine sounded good tho
They wanted $4500 it had newish steers(altho dated 03 new old tires) exhaust was rusty front to rear at all joints, small E-oil leak, tranny was supposed to be new (visually it had miles on it from grime caked on id plate)
It had what I thought was a long time air buildup from buzzer to cutoff it was over 3 min at 1800 rpm (idle same way)
It needed all new rubber under the hood
It had some floor rust issues, I offered him a resonable price to me atleast.
I spoke with a guy I know at Holstein Bus co and he said he will have several availible in a few weeks.(lisa and I have looked at a few of his we just didnt want to borrow money)
She will show her self to us and we will ride into the sunset together

Hi Bansil
I am envious of you having all that space to accumulate " stuff " , someday I hope to have a little room too once We leave Taxachusettes for ANYWHERE .
Heck if I put my car on stands on Sat. to do brakes etc. I get a letter about " an unsafe condition " on Tue.
I do know where You are ( Beautiful Area ) as our daughter looked into ETSU and we checked out the surrounding area's for a place to move to and your town was one of them .
Good luck in your search for the right bus and don't settle for second best .
I am just starting my research into what we want/need .

Re: "We are 100% of the way there"BASE BUS PRICE has been me

Looked at a dognose saturday...rusty was it's name
See look insulation, this was the good side...otherside and rear had bigger than fingersize holes you could see thru...this side was held together with paint

The best tire of the 6

after air built up to 120,I stepped on the pedal...it went to floor and the low air came on immediatly 100#'s gone...poof...
Might have something to do with these red broken tags attatched to the front chambers...any idea what they may of said?
Bad/out of spec etc

so next........
