What would you offer? 97 Blue Bird 8.3L

Hello,

Looking for a 40ft RE either a 8.3 or DT466. Found this today but seems a little pricey. Your Thoughts? Thanks

I have a 2003 A3RE with the 8.3 and MD3060. It had about 170k miles on it. I paid less than $4000.

I believe that most of us here with similar buses have paid around $3500-$4500.

Personally, if I could have taken my bus for a test drive and to a mechanic before committing to purchase I probably would have paid a bit more. Given the condition that it turned out to be in I may have gone as high as $5500. That is just me though.

That is a nice looking bus. Good luck with your negotiation.

I wouldn't even bother. I seriously doubt anyone asking $7-8K more than it's worth to accept a reasonable offer that low. Rushing into a bus purchase will certainly lead to having less than you want. The Holy Grails we all seek only come few and far between and if it's that important to either wait for it to come along or you overpay. The regulars here who know what they are talking about have all advised to walk away from this one. If you must, contact the guy right now with an offer of $5k and see what he says. If he says no, start your search for another If he says yes, hang up and call later with a lower offer. $5k is about the most I would pay for that desired combo, and it would have to have good tires and no damage or other issues.

Sorry I didn't mean to post this thread 3 times. My computer kept freezing and I thought it didn't go through. Yeah, I told the guy 5k was the max I would be willing to pay and didn't get a response. Ill keep looking, Thanks
