how about a wind generator

a set of 120 watt solar panels with all the goodies included

a honda EU 2000 geni

lots of diesel fuel! someplace near the beach, and away from the snow is even better.

I'll add more to the list as the neurons continue to fire and my brain spits out more good (?) ideas.

I would wish for a 7spd tranny from Rockwell international. I could lower my ropms at 65mph from 2900 to 1800rpms. I would also want a jake brake on my bus for the mountains and 2 rooof top airconditoners and a flame thrower under the rear bumper for those people who wish they could get your 20ton bus down the road with their little geo metro. Hehe

I realize this is a five year old topic but it never gets old right? Sometimes I wish I had cloaking device while driving through Utah!

Re: What's on your bus wish list?

Well, I've already got 400 watts of solar, and a wind generator.
What I want is a dead light plant, so I can remove the the crank-up mast and mount it to the rear of my Gillig.
That way I'll always be ready to deploy the wind turbine, and get above all those pesky tall structures generating turbulence near Center Camp when working at BurningMan!!
Anybody able to hook me up in Northern Cal or NEV??

Re: What's on your bus wish list?

I don't know if they as a whole are against skoolies but I've had the old troopers come rippin' up on my tail at some kind of sub-sonic speed more than once both times I've been through the northern part. We go to utah alot since it is so gorgeous but in my experience they dont like long hair and in the past were more than just looking to catch someone with the wrong kind of alcohol. Which is a whole other discussion on the wack laws that the state of Utah or should I say the church/state of Utah upholds. The good feeling comes when those same troopers have to pursue some other unlucky person giving their dollars to the state by choosing to travel there, once they realize that your ride is legit and they probably don't really have anything to hassle you about. Yeah I know that was a run'on sentence but I was onthe verge of a rant. Good luck in Utah

Re: What's on your bus wish list?

Well, not to hijack this thread but one time I got pulled over the day after xmas while coming back to colorado in a snowstorm. I was behind oh I'd say about 15 cars with like 25 behind me and Being of sound mind and driving skills decided to go for it just after the top of soldier summit. If your not familiar with this portion of highway there are straight sections that are like miles long on the west side of the summit. So I pass the 15 cars or so that are blistering along at about 20 miles per day and just as I safely achieve my goal this trooper pulls out from behind maybe 30 cars back almost fishtails off the road and races up on me. I'm now going about 45 miles an hour and he comes up so fast that when he brakes he slides half past my ride before regaining composure getting behind me and executing a traffic stop. Envision the view of all 30 some cars behind us. After explaining to me that he doesn't think this occurred in a passing zone, I informed him that I could not see any lines on the snowpacked road. However, I told him I've been driving this road for years and I am pretty darn sure that the zone does exist. After running my info and finding it clean he returns to inform me that he can't really be sure that it wasn't a passing zone and lets me return to my exodus from the aforementioned state. Of course this only led to my later pass of some 30 cars in the same conditions while trying to remain safe as well as I did the first time. It was just Utahded. Safe travels folks

Re: What's on your bus wish list?

I'm sorry to say that there is not a "safer" portion to speak of. Maybe the cities but don't be too sure. The best thing is just be as legal as possible and obviously try hard to be respectful. I f something occurs maybe take the tourist approach and pump up how great and beautiful the state of utah is. Don't try to carry on any sort of opinion based conversation. This goes particularly strong when it comes to talkin' religion. It is a weird world out there! Good luck and if your in central colorado your more than welcome in Leadville for a night s stop or some good local spots for the bus. Wvo is also in plentiful supply and availability. Good luck!

Re: What's on your bus wish list?

Can I get two things from Skoolie Claus? 1. To sell my truck to rent the building to start my bus. and get back to work on the bus. 2. To have enough control to not obsess on the bus to the detriment of my bus.

Re: What's on your bus wish list?

Now that I think of it, I think I'd like some boxes that are windproof for growing some lettuce and green onions. Maybe something thta sits on top of the bus. I guess I mean a solariam if thats how its spelled. Hope I'm on the list of good kids. If not It will have to be built out of good intentions!

I don't think I'm on Santa's good list, but if he changes his mind... I want this for my bus. Not Bill, Megyn.
