Biggest issues with spray foam is the installers. Second would be climate.
Most spray foam insulators hire the cheapest labor and uses the cheapest rigs, guns and safety equipment. Spray foam has close to the same exposure rules as epoxy workers. Ask any boat builders about exposure of time and the illnesses that follow.
Using unskilled labor in such applications is dangerous for the laborer and the customer but that's how the majority rolls.

If I were choosing to spray foam again I would make sure it was not the cheapest price and it would be the most reputable outfit. Easy to tell when they get on site and they don't have the proper safety gear. Remote breathing and full suits/gloves are a must.

Climate is important too as the temperature window for proper application is per the component manufacturer specs.

Laying it down when its too hot/cold effects the product and its cure. Doesn't matter how thin it is.

If your not up on spray foam stick with board and roll. It works.
