Smile window gaps

Hi Bus Gurus,
I need some advice. (Before you ask, yes, I read the threads on window leaks & sealing.)

To test my methods, I pulled out a window, removed the old bytul tape, cleaned all edges on the window & bus frame, applied new bytul tape (2 -3 layers) on all edges, & put the window back in. Well there is still a 1/4" gap at the top, and tiny gap along the bottom.

Can I just squirt in 3M Urethane 550 into the gaps? If not, what should I do to fix the gaps?

Thanks!

I haven't done this yet, just getting ready to, probably next week. But I also have read a lot of threads on this forum about resealing windows, and I think most people put caulking in after a good cleaning and just before reinserting the window.

I don't remember reading anything about using butyl tape for this job. Upon recommendations that I read from several threads, I have a dozen tubes of this stuff and intend to use it for the recaulking:

Hopefully someone who has actually done this will step in and we will both learn something.
