I'm running into serious obstacles trying to purchase just the powered base. All dealers want to do is sell one and install it. No option to buy and do my own install. Hopefully there's somewhere I can buy one and do the install at my leisure...?

The companies are all like that and getting worse. Try golden boy in poway calif. They sold me parts that others would only sell if they installed after a costly inspection fee etc.
