Hi Steve! Kat and Tim here from Magnolia~Seattle. We just purchased a 2012 International in New Mexico.

Spoke to Barb's and will be heading there soon with the titleand hopefully meet all the requirements to register as a RV. I am however, beating my head against the wall for a pre-conversion policy with regards to the insurance. I can obtain liability but not comp or collision.

My agent stated: " National General will not insure your conversion with a comp or collision deduct until the conversion has been completed. Not ideal at all since you will be driving it back to WA."

Is this normal for reconversion? Having read thru a number of your posts, it appears you are the go to person for help

Would you mind terribly sharing your agent's info (name, agency, number), aswe would like to wrap up asap so that we can get the bus from New Mexico to Seattle before the weather turns.

Appreciate anything you have to offer.

Hi Steve! I've seen your contributions in many of the threads I have read, and I see you're in eastern WA. We are in Ellensburg and just started gutting our 2002 all american blue bird RE (8.3 cummins, Allison 3060). Throwing you a line in case you're in the vicinity anytime, or maybe we're passing through yours and you'd like to connect. I know we would benefit from meeting someone with experience/expertise.

I dug into my wiring removing stuff that's in the way. I did the start engine after every task with no problems yesterday. Went out this morning and I'm having the no start after wiring removal problem now. I think it was you that I remember saying you talked to a blue bird tech and he told you to remove the relay labeled Vanderlock in the box behind the driver windshield wiper. The 11 relays in that box on mine are not labeled. Do you remember which relay it was that you bypassed?

Morning Steve, Random question. I see you have a 8.3 cummins and 3060 trans in your bus. Are you still a locked 5 speed or, by chance have you unlocked and gotten 6th gear..?
I have a 1997 Thomas 8.6 mechanical, attached to 3060- electronic. and am having a bugger of a time getting anyone to unlock 6th for me... Love the bus otherwise.
Feel free to call me if you like, I am in Oregon. thanks, John 541-232-9958

Hey Steve, thanks a lot for the advice and reply to my post. I am getting so many people telling me so many different things (not on here, well that too has begun) that I’m getting frustrated, buying the wrong things - and keep having to rework my system. I really wanted to study and learn and do this as much on my own as I could but at this point I’m raising the white flag. Is there anyone, any reputable company you know of that offers over the phone or online consultations? Or anyone in Or around Northern Florida? Thanks again for your response. Trent

    Hey Steve,

I am interested in the RE bus. I have little knowledge though on a proper bus for my fit. I will be driving a lot through the mountains based out of Utah. So trips through Colarado, Idaho, Wyoming, Nevada would be frquent. Is this a good bus for that? I also have my eye on a DT466 for sale but it seems that this bus is more coveted by the group. Or yall are doing a really great job at upselling it ;)

When would I be able to pick up the bus? Or how does delivery work for you?

Not sure if am doing this right. I am looking for a place to park our skoolie while doing the conversion and maybe getting some schematic help for the electrical and physical help with a possible roof raise.

Hi Stephen, this is Gail from Skoolie Nation. We talked about me getting some help with my electrical set up. Connecting with you now but will follow up later since it is late and my brain is fried. Thanks for offering to help.
