Anything that can still be run as a bus to make money is still worth good money.

Just for reference, Dog nose full size chassis buses start at $85,000 new for a basic bus with no nice options.

Price of a flat nose Am Tran 300 with a DT466 at 300hp, retarder, Alison 3000 series trans, ect, and your at $145,000.

All the buses we buy here for our conversions are basically wore out junk, sold at scrap metal prices.

Agree, when I first started looking I was told oh you can get a good one for 2 grand or so. I never did find a base to start with in that range that was not a parts wagon or one foot in the grave.

Been taking care of bus.....ness..........got a trip coming up in about 3 weeks.......sold one of my Crowns and need to pick up my phantom. Put it in storage and pick up my 30 foot Flxible..........head to Oregon City with my brother and pick up my New find..........a 55 Flxible Vista Liner..........and get that into safety and head of to Colorado, again with my brother, and get the Flxible Flxette to the West Coast and on a boat to Hawaii.

So first we have the Phantom and then the 66 Flxible with custom caps and then the 55 Flxible and of course closing out with the Flxette............ :hide:

SO basically, bus heaven... that's where you been...

mokibrabrant 08-01-2015 06:23 PM

LOL..........don't know about that..........It seems once again I've taken a "vacation" and turned it into a another bus extravaganza..............I'm going to probably start moving now to get the Phantom detailed out and sell it............and remove that leg of the journey................I was thinking that the Phantom would be a 40 footer. But it turned out to be at 36 feet............It's really a cool, cool, Coach............really an outstanding machine and it runs flawlessly and is quality throughout............I'll probably put it on Ebay for and try to get 8500 for it or best offer..........really a nice Bus.........not a spot of rust, runs like a dream, cruises at 69 mph......and is built like a tank. Built better than the Gillig Transit and has the pass through basement storage and no need to deal with the additonal mid-transit doors...............very well thought out machine........but then why wouldn't it be. It was designed specifically to compete with Crown. So it had to be good. Gillig and Crown. Two California builders who simply made each other better right up to the bitter end.
