Hello from Skagit County Washington
Hi Guys,

I'm into off-roading and I've been thinking about an easy way to haul my rigs and have a place to stay for the night. We currently have an old 1988 Beaver Marquis 36ft diesel pusher and tow a car trailer. It works great but I'm ready for something different. We don't need to haul all these expensive and heavy wood cabinets around because less than half of them get used. In the next year I would like to find a bus and convert it to a car hauler/living quarters.

I'd need someplace to sleep, take a crap, make coffee in the morning and haul an offroad rig. My wife needs a little bit more, lol. She has long hair and needs a lot of water for a shower, hence not really using our RV shower due to the limited amount. Rather than resist, Ill just bite the bullet and stay at a hotel every few days. She's a great woman, puts up with all of my adventures, late nights in the garage, and this would make her fully enjoy our getaways.

After the skoolie hauler, I plan on building a race rig in the next few years and will need to do a fair amount of highway travel. We need something that will do highway speeds with the ability to pull off at a rest stop and get a comfortable nights sleep for at least 4 people.

Welcome! Glad you are here.

That's a beauty of a bus he suggested. Word around here is that is THEE engine and transmission, and low miles. Many say that kotor gets 1/2 million miles with regular oil changes. :) I've put less that 200 miles on my bus i about 6 months lol.

Welcome to the madness. Now put yourself on the skoolie map.

Thanks Carytowncat and bluebird90. I'm in the research phase right now and first need to sell my Class A to fund a Toy Hauler Conversion. I also have a pole barn going up in the next few months, so there's lots of things that need to fall into place before I purchase a bus. In addition to the DT466, is the Cummins 8.3 a good choice and did it ever come in a front engine configuration?

Thanks! Thats nice but i need more cab space. I have a family of four and would like enough space so we could pull off at a rest stop and catch some ZZZ's. Not to mention all the crap which is required to keep two kids entertained for a week long trip.
