More veggie oil questions!

I'm starting to collect stuff for my veggie oil conversion, but I have some questions. Where did you guys get the veggie tanks from? I have a tank out of a Chevy S-10 that went through a tornado. The tank is fine but it's only 18 gallons or so. I'd like something bigger. Will a regular automotive gas tank work so long as it's cleaned out? What size tanks are you guys using?

What's the best kind of pump to use? Where along the line are you guys locating your pumps? I was planning to get some of that heated fuel line and put the pump right on top of the tank. You guys are filtering down to about 5 microns right? What kind of filters are you using to do that? I'd like to prefilter down to 5 microns before I put it in my tank. Then have a filter up in the engine somewhere.

Where did you guys get your heated fuel line? Do you know of anywhere I can just get the fittings and make it myself? What kind of material are you using for the fuel line? Copper? I'd like to have some antifreeze heated lines inside the tank that coil around the fuel pickup.

Thanks for any info!

One more question, the gas tank I have is out of a 2003 Chevy S-10. It's plastic. Is it not a good idea to use a plastic gas tank for veggie oil? I'm guessing the temperature inside the tank could reach around 200 degrees. One way to find out I guess.

i would immagine that everything woudl be ok. 200 degrees is nearly unobtainable in a veggie oil tank....at least for me. I had a difficult time getting 150 degrees with a return line and heater core submerged in my plastic 30 gallon drum.

Where you locate the pump depends on its style. Some are designed to push and some are designed to pull. Most I've seen are meant to push, but the lift pump in your diesel as well as the fuel pump in a carbed vehicle are both designed to pull. No matter what, the directions with the pump will let you know. My veggie oil pump is a pusher and located right next to the tank.

I have a brand spanking new 100 gallon aluminum tank made to mount on a diesel dump truck, it has never been used, never mounted. It had a design error and the boss told me toss it in the dumpster. It sits in my storage unit right now... not sure what it would cost to ship it, but I'd let it go for $100 plus shipping.... Would have to be crated for shipping and that will add weight...

I think it's snake oil.
