Onan 4RV GenSet

Whats one of these babies worth. Looking at a Winnebago for $750 and when I saw this in it think it's a no brainer.

I Can't tell from the pic if it's gas or diesel.

If it is gas, I have seen a number of them up here for $600-$900.

If it is diesel then you should RUN AWAY...But not until you send me the sellers info... :)

Seriously, if it's diesel, buy it and run like you stole it.

Not sure of the fuel source yet, but it has a full propane tank in the RV as well.
Checked further on CL and found someone listing just an Onan 4.oRV for $750. So asI said, i think it's a no brainer to jump on tis deal.

Have you used any of the inverter generators? Honda, Champion, Yamaha etc?

They are much quieter than the Onan (gas/propane) RV generators under partial load and not any louder under full load.

I am seriously considering the Champion 3100 dual fuel. Good reviews and less than
$800 refurb with warranty.

I keep managing to talk myself out of buying a generator. Heck, there was a $250 200w inverter generator at Sam's I passed up this week. It's easy to talk myself out of a gas powered unit because don't want to carry an additional type of fuel around.if I were to find a nice 1800rpm diesel generator for a nice price I'd have to get more creative on reasons to not buy it.

The unit you see in that RV is very likely to sell for more than the asking price regardless of fuel type. If you plan to scavenge the appliances and propane tank etec from it then I'd call it a no brainer for sure.

Waiting for the seller to reply so I can pull the trigger. He is also offering delivery for a fee, need to find out how much that is. If I can get it in the drive for $1k I'll be happy. With solar running everything I think the gen is for back up only really, so I can put up with a bit of noise for the few times I might use it, instead of spending much more for a quieter unit.

It doesn't appear to be a diesel.
They go for about $600-$900 here too.

If you would actually want to buy that genset, then yes the bundle is a steal

If not, then make sure you'd buy the RV at that price without it

Gravy, icing's all good but don't count your chickens

I was pretty sold on the Winne before I saw the Genset, that was just icing on the deal.

I have that same Onan but the smoke got let out. Does that even run? Parts aren't cheap new for them but seems to be a few around used that may work in a pinch.
Mine blew the end off the muffler too, scared the wits out of me.
Nice design really and plenty of power besides being one heavy little sucker. Watch your back and pinkies when pulling it out and reinstalling it.
Those are old units too so you have to change the points every few hours.
