Re: How to Identify differns busses

I like the flat front busses because of the tighter turning radius. I've been in several tourist towns I would HATE to navigate a traditional bus through.

Re: 3rd bus, first conversion project

Awesome!!! I'm really jealous. Any rust? If not that is one great deal. A scrap dealer would pay more than 720.

Re: BOZO WITH A SKOOLIE!!!!!!!

Congrats! I actually have dibs on an IDENTICAL bus here in Wisconsin for only $750. She is going to be crushed in one week if nobody buys her. Unfortunately I'm lower than broke right now.

Re: Will a skoolie ruin my marriage?

Looks impossible now. Bad things happened today to the tune of -$4000, so it looks like this bus is being squished.

Oh well. I really want a Thomas pusher anyway. I still hope to do a road trip...

Re: Solar Vents

I think I saw a solar attic vent fan on Lehman's web site that was reasonably priced.

Has anyone tried insulating a skoolie roof, or is it already low enoung?

Re: Will a skoolie ruin my marriage?

Well, we talked about it, and she seems to think it is a good idea. She also is excited about my suggestion that we plan a 2-week road trip next summer up the western border of Wisconsin from La...

Re: Will a skoolie ruin my marriage?

Does the bus need "rub rails"? How likely is it that there will be rust on the body under them?

Re: Will a skoolie ruin my marriage?

I love it!!! Could I really title it as a work / farm truck in Wisconsin? We have been talking about needing a shed to store building materials.

Will a skoolie ruin my marriage?

I have a chance to pick up a bus locally from our school district. It is a 1992 International 66 passenger with DT360 and AT. It was in service last year and DOT inspected in March of this year. They...

Re: Cheap TC2K

That model is on my short list, but I'd prefer it with the 8.3. The dent is probably why it is cheap - looks like a tough place to hammer one out. Being in Minnesota I wonder if it has rust.

Re: Rain Barrel/Rain Water Catchment

What about flipping the roof? You could then have some sort of screen to prevent debris from settling in there. Just thinking out loud.

You may consider having the water tank mounted high in the...

Re: Would this be a good candidate for a skoolie?

It's in my small town here in Wisconsin. They are actually getting ready to crush 6 busses (3 full size). The one I spoke of is the only auto.

Re: Would this be a good candidate for a skoolie?

I'm not in a position to act yet. I was hoping someone on here could benefit from a good deal.

I did find a local bus that has caught my eye due to the $750 asking price - a 1992 International 66...

Would this be a good candidate for a skoolie?

Is Genesis a good chasis? What about a flat front with the engine in the front? What is "8 way"?

Price seems good. Colorado bus should not have rust.

My FIL is a Ford mechanic. The engines are similar to the powerstroke because that is who Ford uses to make their deisels. I figure it will be easier for me to get repair advice and parts.

Also I...

The Ultimate Skoolie Book List

... I'm not offering one, but asking for one!

If you know of a good book that would be useful in converting a school bus, then please list it in this thread.

Thanks!

Re: Aerodynamics / MPG increase - up 16%

To keep it simple and respect the aesthetics of a bus, why not cut the bottom off the front bumper, the top off another bumber, and weld the two together to created one large front bumber?
