Re: Removing Governor?

Re: Why Remove Governor?

Old Guy Frank,

Well, it's a bit hard not to take your message as not being just a wee bit condescending, but if you want some clarification:

I've owned the bus for over 4 years and driven it on...

Re: main cab wire harness???? Help please

Hey Dub C,

I have the exact same bus (see my gallery) and am working on re-wiring the thing as well (mainly because I had some gauges fail and made a new dash panel with all new gauges). I...

Re: 1982 Ford B600 gas (first bus)

Nice find. Have fun with your project. I have a '79 B600 Ford/Carpenter which I am in the midst of refurbing myself.

I agree that the whine sounds like it may be a belt issue, especially if it...

1979 Ford 370 - Ignition fails when engine hot

All,

So, my 1979 Ford Carpenter B600 379 CI short-bus has an interesting intermittent problem. The Ignition seems to fail when the engine gets over a certain temp.

2 Years ago on it's maiden...

Re: Restarting engine after a year of storage

All,

It looks like the problem was a lot simpler than I had thought. We finally got around to trying again, this time we drizzled gas into the carb to really get it running. After about 30 secs...

JT-

Thanks for that info. We have only used the starting fluid for just that, spaying while cranking. Going to try again this weekend, starting with adding another 5 gal. of fresh gas to the...

Re: The JukeBus 1979 Ford Shorty Renovation project

Heh,

One of the cool things about the bus in it's current state is that it has the hanging navy cots AND the 'Back Deck' that is a perfect bed (with the addition of an inflatable mattress) as it...

Re: Floor / Flooring questions....

Smitty,

Good question. My thought was the idea of furring strips would help keep the floor even all the way across (not 'spongy').

My plan is to now go with 3/4 tongue and groove plywood for...

Re: Floor / Flooring questions....

Thanks for your reply.

As we don't expect to be using the bus for extended living in extreme temps, the insulation is more for med temp fluctuations and sound insulation.

The final flooring...
