Re: The Fun Side

5.9 Cummins would be correct for that type of bus (TC/2000 FE). As for transmission it most likely has the AT545 Allison automatic. Great looking bus, can't wait to see what you do with it.

Re: the wait is over

I wouldn't be all that concerned about it.. carpeting like that generally doesn't catch fire very easily. If anything it'll char black before it actually catches fire.

Re: Hi guys, need some help buying my first skoolie.

Flat nose vs conventional.. that's always a big debate for people. Conventionals to most are considered easier to work on in the event of engine troubles, or even just general maintenance. Rear...

Re: skoolie days

Just be glad the bus has a 4 piece windshield and not the two piece curved version. You'll save a lot of money with the setup your bus has.

Re: Great White Buffalo - 92 BB All American RE

I've used metal studs in construction a few times.. they are definitely lighter, but it also doesn't take very much to bend one. They get their real strength from a drywall board, or some kind of...

Re: Great White Buffalo - 92 BB All American RE

Bus looks great! I really like the metal framework inside as opposed to wood. I don't feel like wood belongs in a vehicle like that, but obviously it's a little easier to work with for some people. I...

Re: 1996 Bluebird TC2000 gauge cluster

You may try a junk yard.. that's the most obvious.

Otherwise you can call any Blue Bird dealership really. Depending on your area, it's likely there's a Blue Bird dealership that may be able to...

Re: Sara & Andy's Bus

You really don't want to mess with the cooling systems on those RE buses. Maybe add additional cooling, but I would not remove what's there and modify too much.

Re: Wild Blue

Great work so far! Now the real fun can begin!

As for the killer dowel pin, here's a nice video demonstration of exactly what that is:

Re: Wildcat Lodge

Very sorry to hear that! Your conversion truly turned out to be one of the best I've seen! If I had that kind of money to play with I'd take it in a second.

Re: Adventure Awaits!

Very nice EF you have there!

The rear lights are very similar to the ones on the newer model of that bus. I believe they started using them in 2008. The photo below will give you a pretty good...

Re: Sara & Andy's Bus

What a fantastic looking bus you have there! Looks to be a 2003 model year, ex Virginia bus? Those buses handle great, and offer an extremely quiet ride!

Re: Great White Buffalo - 92 BB All American RE

Honestly the easiest way to tell is just to look at the forward bulk head. There's no specific thing to look at, but when you look at enough buses you get a pretty good idea. A lot of people are...

Re: Great White Buffalo - 92 BB All American RE

Great looking bus, with a very powerful engine.

Looks to be a low headroom Blue Bird to me. Can't wait to see how it turns out.
