Yeah, I get it, it seems to come down to individual needs. I'm sure people use their bus's a lot more than I plan on using mine so I get why people can be a bit specific about their tires.

Just replaced the alternator on my truck.. went to start it, exact conditions you described. I had forgot to tighten my neg terminal cable. It was snug but not tight.

I figured out how to tell 6.9 from 7.3 if anyone is interested. The 6.9 has 7/16 in. head bolts. The 7.3 has 1/2 in. head bolts! That is the easiest way I could tell the two apart.
