We did foam board cut into 1' wide strips with 1" furring strips sandwiching them in to foam joist. This was on top of the 5/8" marine grade ply that was there and in perfect condition....

Man, I'm always a day late dollar short. I ended up using one that was "made" for a 460 carbed engine. Works great, so there's that. Hope I don't need back at it though. It's now covered by 5/8"...

Unfortunately it seems the parts guys in my area are glorified Autozone counter people. Well meaning, but not super helpful. But I do think that's my best bet - I just need to keep looking.
