Yep. That sounds like Michigan alright. At least the Michigan urban areas but that's what I'd expect in any urban area just more so in MI.

Re: Short Skoolie Vs. Shuttle Bus ????
I'd think you could get a bit newer in your price range. My short bus cost $2800 and is a '99 diesel powered rig with 130,000 miles. It's a bit shorter then your target at 22ft but it's wierd...

Re: Price check in aisle 3
I would agree it sounds like $500 bus at best. If he's starting at $2000 I doubt he'll get down to a decent price. I thought I paid a bit much for my bus at $2800 when everything was working 100%. ...

Re: 80's Hotrod Kitchen Bus
Just a thought, what if you added a deck on the back bumper with a serving counter. Then you could adjust height and set it up however you wanted.

I wouldn't trust any single mechanics opinion without double checking. The garage charged me $200 to tell me I needed $1200 in repairs to my brakes. I took it home bought the $300 part they said I...

Re: Ladder for Bus
Silly thought but would it be possible to retrofit an old RV ladder to a bus. There must be salvage sources for old RV extras.

I have a hitch bar that bolts across the frame of pretty much any large truck chassis. I used it for several years to tow my car. They are pretty common in the truck delivery industry but I've had...

If it helps I make almost nothing and still manage to keep it running as long as I can fill the tank. Although I do whine and complain every time I need to fix it.

Re: Cost of owning a bus
It is unfortunate that diesel cost so much now particularly since it's much cheaper to produce than gas. I remember when diesel cost much less so it's possible the prices could switch again. Here the...

Re: Cost of owning a bus
I would think if you planned to leave it sit in the winter diesel would be a better choice since it's a more stable fuel. In the motorcycle the gas can break down and clog the carb over a single...

Re: Cost of owning a bus
I think most owners will tell you that by far the biggest cost is that pesky fuel. Next I'd say you should be aware truck parts are generally more expensive than their car counter parts so be...

Re: Whole new problem this time with the brakes
Well I gave up on trying to fix the brakes and took it to a shop. What a mistake, it cost me $300 to have them tell me it will cost $1200 to fix it. Since I don't have $1200 that was $300 wasted...

Re: Whole new problem this time with the brakes
I didn't know it had vacum hoses. I guess I don't understand this brake system at all. I assumed it must be a hydraulic issue but once they start adding extra parts I got lost.

So far I've removed and tested the high/low beam switch and it works perfectly so I'm down to the relay idea and that looks like the most likely answer. Now to find it. I don't have the luxury of a...
