Re: 1993 Carpenter/Spartan

Welcome Neal,
Sorry, I haven't visited in a while, been busy with some other stuff. Anyhow, have you got your new bus yet? Sounds just like mine except I have the MT643 instead of the 545. You'll...

look at this old bus I found!

Here's a couple pictures of an old bus I found. Sorry about the poor quality. There is a rather nasty "no trespassing, this is not yours, you are being watched, blah, blah, blah" letter taped to the...

Re: My neighbor killed his kids...

Very sad, I hope your kids deal with it as well as can be expected. The human mind is a strange thing. As crazy and sad as this is he was obviously ill as it made sense to him at the time. ...

Re: 2 speed rear

I'm interested in this also. One thing I learned from looking at old grain trucks with 2 speed rearends was the two speeds were something similar to our buses and LOWER. I don't know if they can be...

Do we know if camp Zoe will be accomodating to partially converted buses? Mine won't be nearly done by then.

Re: alternative to PEX crimpers?

I was told those work great also, but I just have a hard time paying that much for one fitting, that could add up fast.

"can't" is a word we don't use around here! I'm sorry, I couldn't resist......I'm of no help.

Re: alternative to PEX crimpers?

I can't quite see them. I did see some push-on fittings at Lowes that would be great if they weren't $5+ each! It looks like good old PVC might be the ticket on this one.

alternative to PEX crimpers?

I was looking at PEX tubing at Lowes, it sure looks like it can simplify the plumbing in a bus. But.....is there an alternative to the $83 crimping pliers? That would steer me away from it.

Re: Lets start planning a gathering for 2008!

Did a little more reading on the camp zoe website. Looks like we would want to try for a non-festival weekend, unless you guys want to be around 10000 other people for a "getaway"

Re: Lets start planning a gathering for 2008!

Re: The Beater Thread

I have to agree. Used cars are my main source of play money. Don't overdisclose, but don't hide any safety issues either. A common mistake people make is to list new parts such as "new water pump,...

You're welcome! I'm still trying to decide that also. However, I did recently buy some rv windows, so skinning is looking possible.

Re: Skinning...Sheet metal, where, what and why?

aluminun is usually referred to by thickness in inches. I'd recommend .040 to .063

Not that I'm aware of. If you're concerned about surface finish, galvannealed metal has a nice smooth finish.
