Re: 20 year old Coleman stoves

Yeah, I have one of those too and it has kept me from freezing before while tent camping in temps below 20 degf (very cold for a Texas boy). You are right about lighting it outdoors. Not only that,...

Re: 20 year old Coleman stoves

I have a three burner Coleman stove that's over 36 years old and it lights right up. I just recently used it a little over a week ago. It only gets used once every other year and I store it full of...

Re: Cost of parts

Chances are that if they are in Austin, they would be summer grip. Probably isn't such a thing as snow tires in that part of the state. :D Matter of fact, I've never seen a snow blower in person...

Re: Skoolie Conversions ---- a great group!

I really like that look. With transit bus windows, it still has good looks on the outside and the inside has a really nice look. I'll need to look into this adhesive you mentioned. Is there any...

Re: Only A Week and Look what I've Learned

Right. That's why I included this disclaimer:

When we travel, we carry two cats and a guinea pig as our "furkids" and leave the dog at home. One of my daughter's comes over to feed Dandy....

Only A Week and Look what I've Learned

It's been a little over a week since becoming a forum member and I spent a couple of weeks lurking. Every forum has it's particular lingo that is unique to either the forum itself or to the topic it...

Re: Adding an Extra starting battery.

This is my line of thinking, as well. New batteries will not only be able to hold a charge better, but will probably have more 'umph' than reconditioned batteries of the same rated capacity.

Re: Awnings on Buses?

That's about the same size I have on my travel trailer (probably the same make, as well) and we love it. I like to put lights on it. You can tell that I stay in RV parks, right?

So, you put yours...

Re: Houston Tailgate Bus

Who knows - I might have gotten lucky that day??? Maybe my local office is just lax? Maybe if I did it tomorrow they would send me through all kinds of hoops! It's just weird that there is not a...

Re: Introduction and a Question or Two

We are thinking of trying Beaumont out when we leave NM. Have you ever looked at the East Lucas RV park (https://www.eastlucasrvpark.com/) behind the Home Depot there?[/quote]

Usually, we go to...

Re: Skoolie Conversions ---- a great group!

I can't tell for sure, but it looks like laminated wall board (not sure what they actually call it, but it has a plastic laminate, like Formica, adhered to a backer, like plywood/OSB/MDF or something...

Re: Introduction and a Question or Two

No problem. Thanks for the suggestion. Conversion Discussion is the main discussion area, right? Oh, and thanks for helping take care of spam. :-)

Neither, but we do go to Beaumont...

Re: New Here... working on my own sketches and designs

ha, that doesn't save me the cost of an airstream :(

Yeah it could be pricy, but Al is cheaper than steel typically. I'm stacking my budget ceiling at $30k capital for a $100k equivalent in build...

Re: Awnings on Buses?

I haven't heard of Alumiguard before. Thanks for letting me know.

You're right about the fabric being expensive. I checked out the site you mentioned, and yep... they are definitely pricey. If or...

Re: Introduction and a Question or Two

Excellent advice, Lorna. I use the same type of approach when I am looking for a certain type of old woodworking machine, I suppose it would be wise to adopt the same attitude when it comes to the...

Re: New Here... working on my own sketches and designs

I think for the cost and complexity of that undertaking, one would probably be money ahead just getting an Airstream. That's just my two cents and I could be wrong, but it sure seems expensive. That...

Re: Awnings on Buses?

Now, THAT is what I'm talking about! Nicely done and what a great price. I would expect that normally $100 would not even buy the fabric itself. Good get.

Looks like there was enough room to go...

Re: Awnings on Buses?

Thanks for your reply, Lorna.

I know what you mean about wind destroying awnings. I lost an awning to a freak thunderstorm in 2004 or 2005 and I was watching the weather. I thought I had more...

Awnings on Buses?

One thing as a Newbie lurking, I haven't seen any buses that have awnings installed. Is this something that most people don't do just because or is there some mechanical reason not to (like no good...

Re: New bus owner - what can you tell me about my bus

I fixed a few of them for you, but basically you have too many codes in there. As inkblots mentioned above, you don't need the URL codes, just the IMG codes. Plus, the picture must have the graphic...
