Perhaps, but that would still make it 6' if they used a full inch sheet....not 5'10"....i've walked many buses in NC and VA and mine came from KY...I measured with a tape every bus I walked...and...

Actually all the thomas's and blue birds that I walked had 73" ceilings (6 ft. 1) and my ward also has 73" ceilings. This is a fairly common measurement. You could find an activity bus, noticable...

Its just what I have been taught, though there seems to be ways around the risk it still isn't something I wish to do. So I'm looking at an alternative with bolting braces through prexisting holes...

My bus is 14 windows, 38' from bumper to bumper (Flat nose FE), around 31 from back of the drivers seat to the back of the bus. When looking at the bus length you can estimate about 22.5 inches...

Like you said it really will be a wait and see deal....The reason I would take it off for travelling is that with the stove vented out the side window, then the pipe would be protruding from the side...

I feared the rust would be worse than it is.....I could tell before taking down that ceiling panel there was moisture behind it...the seam and rivets had some white crusty corrosion forming around...
