Re: WHAT is this guys problem

I tried searching his name to see if I could find the site that way. All I got was his yahoo profile. He is either the biggest troll on the internet or really that...

Re: securing folding doors

One of my friend's dad welded it on there for me. I didn't like the idea of putting holes in my door to mount it. I figured I could just take a few hours and grind it off if I wanted to change it....

Re: securing folding doors

I found mine at Home Depot. Came with both the lock and the bracket together for around 30 bucks. Here is the link to it on master lock's site. They seem to show the two parts separately. :?

Re: securing folding doors

That setup works great actually. If you mount them right they won't interfere with the doors operation. Plus the puck (lock) is heavy enough to beat someone down if they try to steal your bus....

Re: My new tailgater

Think I may pick some of those up for my bus too. My old ones didn't fit and one went flying off as I drove down the freeway. They look good though.

Re: short-bus advice on engine, tranny etc

hehe.. You can't have a short bus of any kind without taking this kind of ribbing now and then. I love it

This is true. Friends keep calling mine the short loaf. I mean its...

Re: My new tailgater

Yeah that overdrive is nice. I have run into a similar leak issue on my bus, but it was due to a bad seal around one of the 8-way lights up front. It would gather in the storage space above the...

Re: 1983 Carpenter Cadet CV Road Trip Project.

Well its been a while since i have updated the progress on my bus. Working on free weekends we(Friends, family and myself) have made significant progress. First thing done was to get the shocks,...

Re: 1983 Carpenter Cadet CV Road Trip Project.

Its kinda weird. I pulled up some of the floor around the side door and the bus door to check for rust and I found that the vinyl is put down directly on the metal floor. I check a few other spots to...

Re: 1985 Blue Bird 'Micro Bird'

I would say just disconnect the battery before you cut them so there is no risk of shock.

Re: 1983 Carpenter Cadet CV Road Trip Project.

Well the plan is to lay down carpet before I even mount anything. What you see there is just a mock up so we could figure out leg room. I'm thinking of taking the floor up to the back of the driver...

Re: 1983 Carpenter Cadet CV Road Trip Project.

This is the horribly drawn layout of the seats in the bus. I have 2 couches and 2 captains chairs to mount and this kinda gives an idea of where they go....

Re: 1983 Carpenter Cadet CV Road Trip Project.

Yeah i will look into the paint, i really don't want to catch any flack in that area seeing how we plan on taking it through a couple states. You are right about the black though, it would look good....

Re: 1983 Carpenter Cadet CV Road Trip Project.

For paint i was thinking black or maybe a different kind of yellow, like something with a little metal fleck in it. I had a floor plan going but by the time i finished it i hated it. I'm re-arranging...

Re: 1983 Carpenter Cadet CV Road Trip Project.

Yeah small block chevy and really low geared, hence the reason for the racing shifter. :D As for the glass I'm getting it looked at sometime next week to see what it will take to replace it.

Re: 1983 Carpenter Cadet CV Road Trip Project.

Thanks! The shiny wheels are actually hub caps that go over the stock black ones. Apparently someone tried head butting the window in the emergency door and ended up putting a nice spider pattern in...

In the process of looking for my first bus i stumbled onto this place. Now that I own one I thought it would be appropriate to join! From what I can gather its a 1983 Carpenter Cadet CV. It is on a...
