Re: Buckeye Tailgater.... IN PROGRESS

Looks great! The stripe all the way would have been cool, just like the helmet, huh? I wanted flames on mine originally, but I settled as well.

Re: 1989 GMC Aggie Tailgater

The bus is almost ready for this season. Just need to get it inspected and figure out a battery/glow plug issue.

Re: 1989 GMC Aggie Tailgater

I have 3 Optima blue top batteries and a Cobra inverter I got from https://www.partsexpress.com. I actually only use the battery bank for the kegerator, toilet, bathroom light, and stereo, but it...

Re: 1989 GMC Aggie Tailgater

The plug on the back serves two purposes. One side is to plug the generator into the bus to run the rooftop AC or whatever while the other plug is to tap into the battery bank coming out.

Re: 1989 GMC Aggie Tailgater

Sorry, I missed your question earlier. I'll have to measure in a couple of weeks when I see the bus again.

Re: 1951 IHC Aggie Tailgater

My paint is just a simple two tone scheme - maroon on the bottom, white on top. We were going to do flames originally, but my original painter backed out so I kept it simple.

Re: 1951 IHC Aggie Tailgater

Are you going to setup around Kleberg this season? What are your plans for paint? I could see that thing sporting some flames. No shame in not being painted the first season. I had a yellow dog...

Re: 1989 GMC Aggie Tailgater

The bathroom was painted to resemble the old outhouse that was always on top of the Aggie bonfire. I also painted the benches maroon, the bathroom interior white, and applied bedliner to the...

Re: 1989 GMC Aggie Tailgater

Well I kind of got the bus back from the painter. He needs it back to finish the top off. I was able to paint some of the interior and install a stereo. I still didn't get to paint over the crappy...

Re: Gator Tailgating Bus Build

Did the subfloor (felt paper, 1"x4" grid, 3/4 foam insulation, and OSB) before the buildout, and the wood floor after the build. With a short bus, it didn't take much at all - maybe $40 worth. My...

Re: Gator Tailgating Bus Build

We went with a wood parquet floor on ours. The small strips of wood and the wire mesh backing allowed for flex to compensate for our uneven floor. It was pretty cheap too.

As for the keg, if you...

Re: 1989 GMC Aggie Tailgater

They're just some pull down solar shades from Lowe's. They'll cut them to whatever length you need. I don't think they were too expensive.

Re: 1989 GMC Aggie Tailgater

We blew our entertainment budget last year on our TV setup. Not to worry though, the stereo has already been purchased so it will definitely get installed this year.

Re: 1989 GMC Aggie Tailgater

Next, we framed the bathroom. I got a used marine toilet off of ebay for around $20 shipped, and then I bought one of those electric conversion kits off of ebay as well. The throne sits over the...
