how much skill would it take? If you have the ability (or a buddy with the ability) to raise the roof, then you can extend the overhead. Maybe just add a couple feet and split the sleeper space over...

Thanks Lady Franklin, I think cork is what I'm going with, in fact it's a perfect match. My bus will be a studio so it has a lot of goodies for me:

can be glued down
Can be cut into custom tiles...

I haven't purchased my bus yet, but from what I've seen scouring the web you can get a 80,000-180,000mi 40' bus for around $1-2k in good shape, whereas a similar short bus like a bb TC2000 special...
