Make sure you can access this hole later. I've already pulled our brass float out of the fuel tank and soldered a hole closed in it (now it works). Ours was pretty filthy too (I used an old paint...

Only hole in our floor (also covered by a metal plate that is screwed down) is the access hole to the top of the fuel tank. Gives access to the fuel level sending unit.
