Your CAC and my CAC are not the same. My CAC is a Common Access Card and gets me on the base to my bus but does not affect fuel mileage as it only weighs a few grams. I suppose with the lanyard and holder it could be as much as 3 or 4 oz.

BTW...my local diesel techs put a factor of 10-15% improvement in power AND mpg's for an intercooled engine over non-cooled.

good call on checking the turbo cooler. evben pinhole leaks mean lost boost.. same with exhaust manifold gaskets.. esp on RE busses where you may never hear a small pre-turbo exhaust leak..

I was military and I work on a military base. I purposely refuse to speak acronym but I also didn't know that one.

BTW...

if anyone needs a top of the line CAC/Charge-Air-Coooler/Intercooler...

I have a Behr C9415 I can let go of cheap. Maybe a hundred bucks + shipping or pick up in Houston. Came out of a taco truck (P-30) and is plenty adequate for 3.9 to 5.9 Cummins.

Can provide pix & measures if interested. Just PM me.

Sorry, came out of the trucking industry, just assumed everyone knew what it was. I also hate acronyms, don't know what I was thinking.

Just to avoid the confusion, I meant the engineer that came up with the name in the first place instead of using intercooler.

I knew what he was talking about after 45 years in trucking. Trying to learn bus terminology.

navistar calls them 'Aftercooler'.. the DT-360 is a 'Diesel-Turbo 360 cubic inch', the DTA-360. is a Diesel-Turbo-Aftercooled 360 cubic inch'.... but later they dropped the designation as they were all 'Afrercooled'.. the label DT-466 on the side of a bus could mean either.. (you just had to look through the grill to see.).. grrr.. manufacturers and their designations..

Upon further thought, I'm not even sure I want to blame the engineers. A larger part comes from the marketing weenies.

Finished the slide outs for the pantry. Well almost, as usual I have to put doors on, still haven't got any of the other doors done but, why rush into things. Anyway, I gained a ton of space over the temporary drawer thing I had.

This is looking from the kitchen

Looking from the bathroom, some shelves are accessible from either side.

Nicely done.

Are those standard drawer slides, or the heavy-duty version? And how much do you think that whole door/drawer weighs?

The slides are 100# a pair, I added a third one. There is a slide top and bottom sideways to eliminate sway when extended. The shelf weighs 40# and a case of water about 35#. I think the third slide is enough margin of safety.

I think you'll be fine.....always good to overspec a little.

And thanks for the info. It will come in handy when I start building my interior.

Nice design. The top and bottom slides will add a lot of stability. Jack

If the slides are top and bottom, where's the third one?
