portable a/c - heat

Anyone try the portable A/C units with the heat strip as the primary Heat/Cooling in your bus with generator/shore power? I have seen some people use the portable A/C units with good results but I can't find anyone who relies on the heat strip to heat a bus/RV/Camper.
I have seen RV roof top A/C units with heat strips but many say they are only good for cold mornings and chilly evenings and won't heat the camper and eventually burn out after a couple of all night uses.
My shuttle bus is the smallest 12 passenger unit they make, so I don't need a lot of heat or A/C. Mostly used for overnight ATV camping with my son and family.

I've got a Whynter ARC-14SH that I've used a couple of times. My bus isn't sealed very well yet and has no additional insulation either. In the hot Tennessee summer the air conditioning didn't keep up very well. It was cooler inside the bus, but not by much. I used the heat function back in October of last year. It along with a small space heater worked reasonable well (68 degrees inside/35-40 degrees outside). I've got a 40' Crown, so with that size of bus, I'm thinking I'll need two units, no matter if I keep the portable unit, or ditch it and get two roof mounted units. My biggest issue with the portable units is the amount of space they take up and dealing with the intake and exhaust hoses.

I have one, it will only put out heat above 32 degrees, the closer to 32 it gets, the less heat it puts out.

http://www.amazon.com/Mr-Heater-MH18...r+heater+buddy These heaters are suppose to be amazing. They are highly recommended. They usually use those small propane bottles but they sell an adapter for a large propane tank.
