wheel well rubber

I have a 32' 1995 international flat nose and the rubber flares on the wheel wells will need some replacing. I have to do some rust repair on one of the outside wheel well panels and while removing the rubber it tore because it was very stiff and brittle. Northern Tool has a 50' roll of what looks to be the same (item number 61883). I was wondering if anybody on here has any personal experience with it as far as general quality of it, how heavy duty it is, and if it's a suitable replacement. I've looked around and can't find any that are bus specific. I will need to replace it but I don't want a flimsy, wrinkly, low grade replacement.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

My only experience with it was removing it.

Have you demoed the inside yet? Removed seats and the plywood on the floor?

I'd remove it and get a quality sound deadening insulation like dynamat or similiar.

I have. I'm the middle of cutting out some cancer on the front and rear of the wheel wells and welding in the patches. That's really the only rust on the rig. I'll do the patch panel on the exterior least after my skills improve some lol

Strange to have rust on the outside at the wheel wells and nothing on the floor around the wheel wells nor in theback corners. You are fortunate.

If you find any good stuff anywhere let me know, I've been hoping to get some since my bus didn't come with any. Thomas quoted me hundreds of dollars for it, ha yeah right!

It was cheaper from my local Thomas dealer than Northern Tool.

Edit: oh nevermind, Northern Tool is selling it in 50 ft rolls... cheaper that way I guess.
I'll split the roll with you...

I wasn't clear, I'm doing rust repair on the interior wheel wells (fore and aft of the wheel wells) and then I will do the only exterior repair last on one of the wheel wells.

I have enough posts so I should be able to post pictures. I'll try and do that at some point.

I have yet to see any of the roll rubber material easily follow a bend of more than 20 degrees without loosing its form. As best I can tell the original flares are "cast" to accommodate sharp bends with the exception perhaps those being for truly round openings. Its probably better than nothing if you don't object to a sort of home made look--which for the most part we Skoolies don't.

Less likely to trap moisture and rust without em.
