2003 Amtran/International battery cables

Ok, not necessarily a drivetrain/mechanical question, but more along the lines of electrical. I swapped out the two (dead) coach batteries for a single 8D. The two batteries had their positive and negative terminals bridged, with leads running in along a 2d ground cable. I'm thinking these were the glow plug cables, but I'm not 100% sure; the wait light no longer lights. And if they were the glow plug cables, would my local truck parts shop have them for single battery systems?

I'll try to have some photos of the cables and current battery set up tomorrow. Can't do the old batteries, because they've been turned in.

Are there smaller gauge wires connected to the bridge cables? My international had some necessary wires connected to the bridge cables and it won't start without em.

Yes there are. I take it they'll need to be either spliced into the main cables or terminal ends applied and tied into terminals?

Yep! I did the same to mine. I think they provide direct power to the ECU or some other computer controller. Pretty important. I just clipped them off of the large gauge wire and put 5/16" terminal rings on them and connected them to the appropriate battery terminal. A trivial job.

That was it. Wired up the connectors yesterday, and the bus fired up.
