3 Point Seatbelt - how to fix

I have a Bostrom Talladega 915 seat that has a 2 point lapbelt which is not legal in the UK - it has to be a 3 point belt (with the belt coming from a high mount point, over the chest to the connector and then back over the lap.

Has anyone else tried to fit a 3 point belt? I either have to fix the third point near the head of the seat - will strip off cover to see if there is anywhere secure to mount it, or will have to mount on the frame just behind the driver - I was going to take out two of these bolts and fabricate a bracket that presents a flat surface to bolt the third point (the belt reel)

Anyone else tried fitting a 3 point belt?

All new buses have a three point seat belt mounted exactly like you are proposing.

I would think the parts required to mount a 3-point belt would be available Blue Bird, IC, or Thomas.

I know new seat belts are available. I can't imagine why the mounting hardware wouldn't be available as well.

I'm going to get this bracket made up by my local Blacksmith and attach the bus frame. Will grind off the top two existing bolts - the nuts are welded on! and replace with M12 bolts

The bottom hole will hold the inertia reel and the top hole the double=back bracket.

This is the mounting I made to fit a 3 point belt. I used 5mm steel rather than 4mm.
