Vormax heat exchanger

I just purchased a 1990 short school bus with a 6.2 detroit diesel engine. i would like to convert it to run WVO. It came with a Vormax Heat exchanger and filter, a model 500fg diesel fuel filter/water separator and a box of extra filters. what do you guys think about these parts?

Re: Vormax heat exchanger

I think plant drive or whatever they call themselves sold those. They used them on single tank installs.

Re: Vormax heat exchanger

i am trying to plan out the full system that i will need in the bus. eventually i want to be able to filter and use wvo on the road. i would like to have a dirty wvo tank that is filtered into a clean tank. From there another heater and filter to the injectors.

i am trying to decide
a) what else i need (pumps filters heaters)
b) in what order i should put them.

if i was building this from scratch i would go
dirty tank, pump, 20 micron, 10 micron, 2 micron filter into the clean tank.
from clean tank, pump, to flat plate heat exhanger to clear inline filter to electric heated lines to injectors.

i am trying to decide if i should use these parts in the first filtration system or from the tank to the engine? i am also worried about finding filters for these parts on the road.

Vormax inquire

If you’re not implementing the vormax, I’m in the market for one!
I’d love to get my hands on one
Cheers!
