Seat removal tip if you don't have a helper

Use vise-grip pliers on the nut underneath then loosen the bolt from inside. If you have several sets of vice-grips, you can avoid even more trips under the bus.

For me it was a 4-1/2 grinder with cutoffwheels for the legs in the floor 5 seconds per bolt and then pound out remainig.

Re: Seat removal tip if you don't have a helper

I've done it both ways. I always feel smarter when I use the vice grips but I really hate crawling under my bus and I really like the noise and sparks and beating on metal --its got more animal energy or something and its dangerous and the bus could catch fire or I could hit myself with the hammer or lose an eye etc.

Yea thats why I like the Bansils method best--and its why I have health insurance--and have had to use it, repeatedly

All kidding aside, the grinder is the way to go. My two cents worth. Jack

Silly me, I forgot to mention that the guard has to be removed --along with that little ledge thingy that keeps the disc from touching whatever while the grinder is spooling down after shut off. Sorry

Works even better if you soak said clothing in gasoline first.

No worries, that happens automatically after the grinding sparks melt a hole in your new plastic gas tank.

LOL You people are evil. Frankly, I hate that grinder but for my bus it was only thing that worked until a guy with tanks and this pretty flaming torch thing came and oh wow...I thought the grinder was scary.
