Howdy & Welcome --- Is that a "gasser" or diesel. Either way, it looks pretty clean. As for what to do with/to it...that is purely a subjective call. These rigs can be made over into just about anything. RV, camper, hunting lodge, taligater, mobile retirement home (my plan), taco wagon, toy hauler, mobile business...you name it. Just take your time, read up (and this is the best place for that)...and you'll come up with a dream/plan/vision that is your own. That's the beauty of this type of endeavor. It can be any damned thing you want!

Once again, welcome.

I'm stoked for you. I'm looking for exactly the same thing. Where did you find it and how much if you dont mind my asking?

As for my plan, I'm going to do a 4x4 conversion and cut the back into a toyhauler. I'll be making it as modular as possible so any furniture will be moveable and removable in case we really wanna pack a lot of toys in for a specific trip.

I'll also be living in it for extended periods of time while I tour around to various permaculture farms and ecovillages. So I'll be rigging it out to be off-grid and as self reliant as possible.

I'll be watching your thread, good luck.

Thanks for the reply but this morning while looking at the bus i found that the front folding door is very slow to open any ideals. I can hear the motor and if pulled from outside while touching switch it will open easy but it needs help. But closing the door is perfect any ideal let me know.

My air door is a bit slow to close too. I haven't had the time to spend on figuring it out, let me know what you find out.

Hey would you mind giving me a measurement from the back wall to the partition just before the drivers seat when you get a chance? Width would be nice too, just trying to see what the inside differences are between some different models at which I'm looking. How many passengers is your bus rated for?

Your door probably has a linear actuator motor in the compartment above the door. They're pretty simple motors and you reverse the polarity to open and close them. Check the door hinge posts where they go down through the stair well and up through the top of the door frame. Something may be binding or rusted or the motor may be getting weak.

Eh, sorry Alabama is a little out of my range. I'm in Cali. Unless the price is $1, I'll probably have to pass. Good luck with whatever direction you decide to go. You got a good bus there.
