Re: I need help making a wall curve template!

Okay, I've lurked here for far too long, and seeing your message viewed 20 times without a response makes me feel guilty(troll-bait). With that said, to answer the question of how to create a template for a curved surface, here is my simple, cheapo response:

1. Connect-the-dots of the rivets/screws on the rib of roof and wall.
2. Get some cardboard that spans the vertical and horizontal planes.
3. Place a scrap piece of plywood on the the (finished) floor (unless you want a six foot tall template)and attach a crude-but-proud estimate of the curve of cardboard.
4. Start whittling/snipping the cardboard until satisfied. OR take a compass and trace/score the curve onto the cardboard, then whittle...whatever. keep in mind, the body flexes, so perfection isn't ideal.

Re: I need help making a wall curve template!

I tried using a scribe and that really didn't work out so well. But it did give me a starting point. Using a large piece of cardboard and the basic scribe to get it 'sort of close' I then used my cardboard rough-cut and just lifted it in place and made a finer scribe, cutting with scissors and rescribing until it fit perfectly. Half the ceiling is all you need, both sides have the same radiu...
